Mommy & Daddy enjoying Kangaroo Care

Mommy and Alex
Daddy and Gracie
Kangaroo Care, as we've learned in the NICU, is a wonderful way to not only bond with preemies, but promote health benefits for them to continue maturing and growing. Kangaroo Care is the skin to skin contact with baby against parent's heartbeat. It helps regulate their body temperature, stimulates milk production (moms only), and nurtures preemies since the heartbeats they hear remind them of the mother's womb. We enjoy Kangaroo Care with Alex and Gracie after working with them on their feedings, since they are still "learning" how to nurse and take their supplemental bottles.
Sunday
~Chelsea~
It was not too long ago that Chelsea herself was this tiny! Well, not quite so tiny since Chelsea was not a preemie like Alex and Gracie....but the years really do fly by fast! Also, it turns out it is not like riding a bicycle! We are re-learning all things baby, but we are thankful to be learning so much for these little blessings!

You Rock, Doc!
My husband continues to impress me every day. Watching him express how much he loves the babies but then carefully making time for the rest of his family and others is a blessing to all of us. He has pushed through exhaustion, stress, and many other elements and still is such a rock. He is a constant that I wouldn't want to live without. He works the long hours, gives the extra time and help...and yet doesn't ever complain. In fact, he's always telling me how lucky he is to have a healthy family and be so blessed.
As my friend Trish says,
"You Rock, Doc!"
~Lots of love from your appreciative wife~

Nana to the rescue!
Mommy and Daddy moved to a new house and brought us home from the NICU too! And Chelsea is old enough to have tons of places to go but young enough not to be able to drive herself! Busy, busy, busy! Nana to the Rescue! Thank you, Nana, for cuddling us and saving the day for mom and dad!!! Love, Alex and GracieFriday

Happy Days

We're so excited about seeing our big sister Julie soon! Anyone who knows our Mommy has seen her brag book and has heard her talk about Julie having the world's cutest, happiest kids! Elliott, Amelia, and Eleanor ... always with smiles like their mom! We cannot wait to see you guys,

Mommy before she went to the hospital
Mommy loves this picture of her carrying us! We were getting big and making lots of movements to watch on the ultrasounds. And she says it was really special to be expecting us at the same time one of her best pals, Linda, was expecting baby Zachary. Zachary was born a week after this photo was taken and Mommy wonders if we arrived 5 weeks early to see our new friend! ~Alex and Gracie
